Directions

This interactive applet demonstrates how parametric equations work. You can enter an arbitrary parametric by entering the component functions at the top left. You can then trace various values of each function by clicking and dragging on the graphs. To turn off this feature simply disable the trace feature at the top left. You can also enter your own ranges for t, x, and y. To see the graph being drawn click the ANIMATE button. You can also set your own Δt by unchecking the AUTO checkbox. If you have your own Δt set then when you trace the graph the tracer will jump discretely in Δt intervals.
