This interactive applet demonstrates that as one increases the sample size, the relative frequency approaches the theoretical probability. At the upper left you can choose a number of different simulations to run. For example, if you choose the Letters simulation, the graph will display the relative frequency of how often each letter was selected after a certain number of random selections. The number of trials is displayed at the top of the graph. The colored bars indicate the relative frequency while the black lines show the theoretical probability. At the bottom you can increase the number of trials or reset the simulation.
