Symposium and Dinner Honoring Zalman Usiskin

For over 40 years, Zalman Usiskin has been a leader in mathematics education in the United States and internationally. Zalman joined the University of Chicago faculty in the fall of 1969. He was involved in the original planning of the University of Chicago School Mathematics Project starting in 1983 and has been its overall director since 1987. This special event commemorates Zalman’s work and impact on mathematics teaching and learning. Teachers, mathematics educators, and others who have known Zalman or his work are encouraged to attend.

Symposium:

A scholarly symposium will address Zalman's contributions to mathematics curriculum, mathematics teaching, and mathematics education research, as well as his service to the mathematics education community. The symposium is free and open to the public.

Reception and Dinner:

A cocktail reception with full bar, a dinner, and a friendly roast will follow the symposium.
